I saw that this tension control was for cable. Can an electromagnetic clutch be used for webtension as well as cable tension?

I noticed that this was a cable tension application. Can an electromagnetic clutch be used for web tension applications?

Hi. You are right. They are used for tensioning. It could be paper, wire, film, whatever. The constant dragging builds some heat so you just have to size it right. For the most part, I would consider these tensioning products. I wonder if they use them on those powered fishing reels that I have seen on tv. I am not sure how they tension those lines, but I do like watching those big tuna land in the boat. Ummmmm… tuna.
