General industrial type Magnetic Particle Clutches range in torque from about
4 lb-in to 71 lb-in

There are bigger units available, but less common. People tend to start using pneumatics or hydraulics for the higher torque industrial tensioning applications.

There are smaller units too, but they tend to be more like the magnetic particle with permanent magnetic type clutches, often found in something like your office printer/copier.

Are these clutches good for winding and unwinding of fabric?

Hi. I'd say yes, but as long as the spool isn't too incredibly large and outside of the torque range of a standard mag particle clutch. The nice thing about a mag particle clutch is that tension (torque) can remain constant while the spool rpm runs faster or slower. For example, an unwind reel would spin faster as the material is released because the reel diameter becomes smaller as material diminishes, but the tension needs to remain the same for quality control.
